Life is so busy.

Gahh. Haven't been on this thing in forever, clearly! Thought I'd reminisce by looking at old posts. My, how life has changed since my last post. As for our family today, I'm sitting on the couch, drinking some coffee, looking at Hattie & Darla sleeping on this rainy day, and listening to the sound of beach waves playing on the Mamaroo while my precious girl is trying to fall asleep for a nap. {Please excuse that major run-on sentence!} We have been so incredibly blessed the last two years. We went from being in a new town, in a new state, with new jobs. Now we absolutely love our town, love our jobs, and are becoming more and more apt to loving our state. :)  We have found the church home we love and have made friends there who have been there to share life with us. They are amazing. Not to mention five months ago they were flooding our house with meals upon meals upon more food, love, and support. How blessed we were to have our baby in this great place! Through the last five months, we have seen so many new phases as new parents. This girl is -SPECIAL-!! I don't know how one could be so abundantly blessed. Kate Landry is our biggest blessing. We loved and snuggled those newborn days, went through some crying bouts during growth spurts, and now we are learning the colorful and fun-loving personality that is becoming of her! She lights up everyone. Always smiling, always laughing, and definitely always talking. That's the one thing she got from her Momma. Her looks clearly come from Daddy! I'm loving being a stay at home Momma and am once again, blessed, to be able to see the developmental changes and all the 'firsts' that I'm getting to see being at home! Well, looks like my girl has fallen asleep.. So now it's time for this Momma to get some chores done. And prepare for dinner. On the menu for tonight is roasted broccoli, pesto grilled chicken, & 'Red chile & cilantro linguine'! This pasta -- I have been waiting to try it with the perfect dish! It comes from Gourmet Texas Pasta in Austin. Yay for flavored pasta! {If you've never been to Seattle you MUST go to the market and sample all of their bizarre and delicious flavored pasta!} Ok, onto the day's work. Love to all on this rainy Wednesday!

New Priorities!!

Ok-- I. Am. So. Sorry!

I am so horrible at this! I really should just delete my blog but every once in a while (every 6 months or so), I remember to make a post! :) So I told myself: New Year, New Priorities. Don't you just love New Years resolutions?? Well, in the last 4 months, we haven't had much going on! We are still in Oklahoma and still the parents of our two little girls.. (Dogs, I mean!) Zach still loves his job as a Mack truck sales rep and we are getting a little more cozy with the idea of living in another state. Notice I said "a little." DUDE. I freakin miss Texas! And home! So last week when we got home, I rearrnged our house and decorations and made myself a little Texas shrine in the kitchen. I put up my Texas flag platter on a plate stand, and propped up my new cookbook I got for Christmas -- it's called The Homesick Texan! It has some pretty awesome recipes in it for those of you who like cookbooks.

Well Happy New Year to all! This past weekend was a blast. We had Dustin & Marlee Muhlbauer come and stay with us to celebrate the new year. So much fun with great friends! But I will admit, we set up really early for Christmas and we quickly took the decorations down once we got home last Monday. It just feels good to have a clean and open house again, as much as I LOVE my Christmas decorations!! I'll post pictures of Christmas tomorrow.. and also a few from Thanksgiving. Gosh it was so good to be home!

Visitors Are Always Fun

I know I'm just now posting these pictures but.. last weekend our friends Josh & Amy Norwood came to visit us! We LOVE some company up here! They came in Saturday morning and we took them to Iguana Grill in downtown Oklahoma City for lunch. Can I say AWESOME?! It's amazing if you've never been there. It's Mexican food with a touch of fresh & healthy, if that's possible. But let me tell you- you have to try it. It's cool and funky and just a place that needs to be on your list.
 ...And the best salsa ever!

After lunch we went to the Belmar Golf Club to lay out at the pool. Fun! But the sad thing is apparently there was a fire this past week and now it's closed for the rest of the summer!! BUMMER. We shopped a little, swam a little, and then cooked dinner at our house before we went out. We went down to Bricktown Saturday night and had a blast. Wormy Dog was hosting our favorite band - the Turnpike Troubadours - so we headed down there to start our night. Got to hear a guy play for a little bit at a small bar, then went to Wormy Dog only to find that their AC was not on!! Are you kidding?? We totally ate the $10 cover we paid and got the heck outta there. We then went to Brix (which is one of our favorite places to watch baseball & basketball games) and stayed there pretty much the rest of the night. To top it off, there was a vendor outside on the street that was selling hot dogs & kraut dogs... DELISH! Keep in mind it was around 1:00 AM on a fun Saturday night. ;) ;) We finished off the weekend with Sunny Side Up for breakfast on Sunday morning and they were on their way back to Dallas. SO SAD! Here is a re-cap:

Soo.. a day off today! A nice treat :) Just hangin' out with Hattie & Darla. Just us girls. But what to do when you have the WHOLE day off?  I think I'm feelin' kinda crafty.. maybe some DIY network? ..Or maybe some Barnes & Noble to get some new ideas for recipes.. who knows where the wind will take me!

I do know that I have a few errands to run so that I can get ready for Dustin & Marlee's wedding next weekend!! So excited for it! Dustin & Marlee are some of our really great friends - We always have so much fun together!!

Sundays are for naps

So this is what we are doing today... lazy but so nice!

It's the simple things in life that make us happy :)
